High School had just ended and I was 18. Went to Cayman Islands to visit my best friend Wayne, who moved there with his family for a few years as soon as high school ended. Spent about a week there. No pics to find, this was a looonggg time ago.
Here are some notable memories:
1. This was my first time outside the United States.
2. I was 18 yrs old, and could legally drink.
3. I recall some German chicks....
4. Trying to catch stone crabs one night crossing a road (I think this happened, but see #2). This seems lame, but there were thousands of them scampering across the road, it was kind of freaky.
5. I flew British Airways on this trip, and something happened with my reservation on the way home. I don't recall the details, but my seat was lost (not my fault). The airline bumped me to first class (only seat available)! Keep in mind I was only 18, and this was my first trip outta the US. I had a 4 star meal on the flight back, and drank as much free booze as I could get down on the 1 1/2 hour flight home to Tampa. I think this is what got me hooked on travel, I figured if international travel is like this, why not... 8) Of course this was the good ol days, when airlines actually treated you like a human being.
